Children's Ministry

"Suffer little children, and forbid them not to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven." ~ Matt 19:14

Children's ministries assist the church and parents in working together to develop spiritually strong children and youth.  Every Wednesday evening at 7:00 we provide game time and Bible challenges for children aged 3 years old through 5th grades.

Teen Ministry

"Let no man despise thy youth, but be thou an example of the believers." ~ 1 Tim 4:12

Our desire is to provide activities and challenges from God’s Word that will assist us in getting to know your teenager’s strengths and weaknesses and encouraging them to love and serve their God supremely.

The future of our youth is determined by what they do today. Our desire at FBC is that our youth glorify God by being salt and light in their community; that they grow in Christlikeness through the trials they face; that they live a victorious Christian life by resisting temptation; that they cultivate godly relationships; and that they do not fulfill the status quo but attempt great things for the glory of God.

When We Meet:

Sunday Mornings 9:00 am

Wednesday Night 6:45 pm

Mississippi Valley Christian School

"Train up a child in the way he should go." ~ Prov 22:6

Several families of Faith Baptist Church in Godfrey, Illinois founded Mississippi Valley Christian School in 1974. Almost 50 years later MVCS now offers K4-12th grade, and has had a large impact on the community.

The mission of MVCS is to create and cultivate curiosity and to develop lifelong learners and Christian leaders.

Learners today, Leaders tomorrow.

Men of Faith

"And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: ~ Heb 10:25

The men of Faith Baptist Church are active servants and leaders in various areas of the church.

A group of men faithfully meets for special prayer every Sunday before the morning worship service and once a month at a local restaurant over breakfast.

Periodically we also plan activities for fellowship such as camping, golfing, Christian movie nights etc.

Women of Faith

"...and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints." ~ II Corinthians 8:4

The ladies of Faith Baptist Church bring together women of all ages for encouragement, fellowship, outreach, and meeting of needs of the church and in the community.

                   Our ministries include:

  • Ladies' Days Out: lunch and/or shopping

  • Random Acts of Kindness activities

  • Providing meals to the sick and shut-ins

Sunday School

"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." ~ Matt 18:20

Each Sunday morning at 9:00, groups of preschoolers, children, students, and adults meet to study the Scriptures, to experience Christian fellowship, and to be challenged in Christian service.

We strongly believe that God’s truths recorded in Scripture can dynamically change a person’s life. We invite you to join us every Sunday morning as we learn how the Bible can transform our thoughts, challenge our attitudes, and inspire us to action!

Nursery

"Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward." ~ Psalm 127:3

The nurseries at Faith Baptist Church provide care for children from birth to 3 years old. Our nursery is staffed with volunteers who work often and get to know you and your baby. We also have a supervisor who is over all the nurseries and she will be happy to answer any questions for you. Those who work in the nurseries consider it a privilege to serve the Lord and you by caring for your precious little ones.

Music Ministry

"O come, let us sing unto the LORD: Let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation." ~ Psalm 95:1

The focus of the music department at FBC is to encourage the congregation while creating an atmosphere for corporate and individual worship of the Lord.

The adult choir, instrumentalists, vocalists, and keyboard team are involved in all Sunday services and the annual Christmas program. Our music is traditional in styling using the beloved hymns of the faith as well as newly composed music by a number of current composers. Our musicians seek to honor Christ by presenting music that is true to Biblical precepts, and their desire is to be used to draw attention to Christ rather than to provide entertainment.
